It's a larger version of my little allotment where everything scrambles over other stuff...it's given me so much joy and quite a bit of food.
Did I get it right...you're leaving the city? I keep promising myself that I'll walk by and take an up-close-and personal look at all the cool things you're doing with your space. I have been staying at my own home in Hopkins for a few weeks, so I haven't been in the neighborhood lately. I also would feel a little like a prowler, snooping around unannounced looking at your yard. Would still love to see it, but I guess I would prefer you to be there. Let me know if you're willing to give me a tour. The photos were incredible!! Keep it up. Seems to me that all your struggle is worth it.

Peace.

JeffAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160895395634617774.post-71111509042627335372011-07-15T13:56:03.534-05:002011-07-15T13:56:03.534-05:00Absolutely gorgeous man. If more people did, think of the benefits!

I, for one, am envious of the knowledge you have to do this, having grown up on a "Farm" .. I think you would be a good teacher of wo(men) in the ways to reclaim the urban landscape for food. Think of it!!Chadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09305207251600924945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160895395634617774.post-67739711675660508882011-07-15T04:26:02.720-05:002011-07-15T04:26:02.720-05:00The garden looks great, I'm impressed. Score one (or two with the Oak Park victory) for the home team!mwkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09755201143409182883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160895395634617774.post-70755301004826080302011-07-14T21:20:48.840-05:002011-07-14T21:20:48.840-05:00It looks great! I know it must have been tough to get rid of perfectly good yarrow in the front walk, but I think it will pay off in peace with the cranky neighbors. At least I would hope.

The city of Oak Park apparently dropped the charges against Julie Bass- I think it is possible to fight city hall and win.

I think city halls all over the country are going to be seeing front yard (and back yard and side yard, and roof) gardens popping up more and more. They'd better get used to them. They're not going away.

Jeff

http://eighthacrefarm.blogspot.comJeff Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06285239745975791484noreply@blogger.com
