Spy On This
With much of the country ranting and raving about the emerging surveillance/police state, I thought I'd take a break and give the NSA/Homeland Security/FBI something to relax with, in their fascist, secret courts, secret legal interpretations snooping. LOL. Sorry the pics aren't sunnier, but the sun seems to have abandoned us here in the upper Midwest this year.
Welcome to my lair. LOL.
The north side of the house
Mushrooms under the Stella Cherry, amid potato vines
My front, um, "lawn". With a little Coer de ??? apple, and a Mesabi Cherry growing next to the big log

On the corner of the front step, out of the crack in the sidewalk, large leaved aster, swamp milkweed, anemone, viola, and Joe-Pye weed
This is my black-cap raspberry patch. About 18 quarts of berries last year. It's about twice the size it seems, this year. Not exaggerating, the healthiest black cap patch I have seen anywhere in my various travels in the state of Minnesota
Fire on the prairie at the base of the fire hydrant, with encroaching wild strawberries
Columbine among a profusion of fleabane - shooting stars
A black currant given to me by the blogger @ Eighth Acre Farm
My woodland-edge walk, wildflowers jumping from the boulevard to the "lawn"
The pond and patio from the sidewalk
The treasure chest should be full of Dahlia and begonia, late summer, if we ever see the sun again

Hops, planted, five on either side of the garage, here among spontaneous snakeroot and asters
Blueberries
Anemone among the red raspberries and blueberries

The step to the main garden
Potatoes, two apple trees, etc. There was asphalt here, which I tore up and built this garden, which they told me I couldn't do, which I told them if I hear another thing about it I'm suing the city for harassment. They let that go and then fined me two weeks pay for those big logs that were meant to be carved statues here
Kohl rabi, beets, turnips, radishes, bunch onions, various greens
Swamp milkweed among the cabbages
Asparagus
Cultivar strawberries
Dahlia emerging
Summer yellow squash amid a ring of sweet corn, with spontaneous beans and bracken fern, and interesting, small but emerging potatoes lower and upper in the pic, emerging from SEED set by a few potato vines last year
red and white onions in a spiral
a wild cherry tree emerging by the water spigot, I can't seem to find the desire to cut back
Last years turnip flowering, making seed
Potatoes in front of climbing snap peas, with a hill behind that with zuchini and poona kheera cukes
My sad, sorry melons and cukes, many of which have died, the sun having abandoned us, cool temps and too much rain
Cactus in what is normally a very dry spot, which I had to clear out of weeds and sage to take this pic
A Western Sand Cherry on the left established there on its own, some very happy onions and my new rhubarb. A toy snake my 2 year-old nephew left here
A volunteer sunflower

Berserk Goes the Empire
What is the situation as it stands, in
the world, June 2013?
This is a recent picture of Fukushima.
Those blue and gray tanks are water tanks. They are holding
groundwater that has leaked into the broken reactor(s), which has
become contaminated. There are a bunch of underground tanks too, that are leaking. The solution to that problem is building more of these tanks, above ground. They have also floated
the idea of pouring the water into the sea.
How do you fix a broken nuclear reactor that
has groundwater seeping into it? You don't apparently. This is
something those who believe that technology is a god, or that
technology is the solution to all our problems, do not want to see,
do not want you to see, as almost nowhere in the mainstream media will you hear mention of
Fukushima, not even in the context of the third largest economy by
country in the world, seeing a 12% decline in it's Nikkei index last
week. In fact I just heard on NPR, twice in three days, that Japan is doing
great!
There was an interview recently, on
NPR Marketplace (where I heard one of those mentions that Japan is doing GREAT!), the host Kai Ryssdal and the redoubtable Donald
Rumsfeld, talking about Rumsfeld's new book on Life lessons his mama taught him. Kai asked him for an apology, for the Iraq war; but not
9/11, which would get Kai fired. Which, Donald said time
would reveal the reasons for the decisions of George W Bush. LOL. Indeed,
one does not have to wait that long, unless you believe nothing in
this world is true until it is sanctified in the official story.
I.E...
Syria is a domino in the plot to
maintain the preeminence of the petro-dollar. As was Iraq, as was
Libya. As Iran is expected to be. That is also called American foreign policy, except not the
official story part. The official story is we are spreading
democracy, which is a euphemism for using the US military to spread
globalist free trade for increasingly unaccountable, supra-national
corporate and financial interests. The petro-dollar refers basically, to the fact that the dollar is the world reserve currency and that no one can buy or sell oil anywhere in the world unless they are using American dollars. Iraq was attempting to trade oil
for Euro's, hence the invasion. Libya was attempting to institute a
gold Dinar, which they would then only accept gold Dinar's for their
oil; hence the NATO invasion, with the explicit support of Obama and the CIA.
Despite all the Benghazi talk, neither the Democrats nor Republicans
want you to know that the Federal Government through the CIA was
financing al Qaida in Libya, and now in Syria.
Meanwhile, China, Russia and Brazil
smell a weakness in the Dollar, and are lining up to create their own
currency. They have had enough of the Dollar, and American dominance,
and sense a monster about to go berserk protecting it's interests.
How bemused they must be, watching the lofty Americans, who so easily
betray their professed ideals with the Patriot Act, NDAA, warrentless
wiretapping, confiscation of journalists emails, the jailing of
whistleblowers and hackers etc (Oh and that wonderful gift to totalitarian scumbags of America the Supremacist Court offered today, giving the police the right to take a sample of your DNA any time they arrest you for any "serious" reason, ie for whatever reason, justified or not - before or after they strip search you!); how impressed they must be how easily
the MSM manipulates Americans, to tow the official line, despite the
absolute bullshit nature of it, as the American and Western European
middle, and working and service classes, are hollowed out to save the
bankers. Which bankers have their own ideas about the dollar, and
will be doing every thing they can to push this next World War in the
direction of their favor, creating some new International Currency,
America, Russia, China and Brazil are in hoc to at the end of said
war, the bankers building whatever army's they choose to finance in
the aftermath.
Meanwhile in America, the vast mob of
half-literate consumers are as likely to blame gay marriage, abortion, Mexican immigrants, Muslims, socialist liberals or patriot tea baggers, for the
collapse of the dollar, as they would the
Military/Industrial/Corporate/Financial/Law-Enforcement State, and scheming
leadership. Kai mused to Rumsfeld, where would America be if we
hadn't invaded Iraq? He didn't ask, would Americans have supported
the war in Iraq if you had told them it was very much about oil and
the preeminence of the petro-dollar? Except Marketplace was like the rest of the MSM at the time, demanding
that we go to war in Iraq, and just as clear now about the necessity
to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon, and Kai isn't about to
say that NPR and Marketplace are nothing more than official talking
points purveyors, that all the media merely reports what people in
power tell them. They can't do otherwise, or they will be out of a
job. That is how Fascism works, get it?
Meanwhile, the whole world just crossed
the threshold of 400 ppm, carbon molecules in the atmosphere. It
seems funny, that the organization 350.org was created like five
years ago, to stop us from crossing 350 ppm. Which pretty much
guarantees, at current progress, sea levels will rise upwards of (20!) feet
the next 10-15 years, which will inundate much of the coastlines,
where most people live. But according to the MSM, you should be
worried about the viability of Social Security and Medicare. Because,
like, we need to restructure Social Security and Medicare (hand all
that money to big banks) to better take care of all those
refugees. LOL.
And a rogue GMO wheat plant was
discovered in Oregon. Reports too, that escaped GMO salmon can mate
with evolutionary salmon. What did they GMO salmon for? Oh right, to
eat GMO CORN. What happens to a people who's diet becomes primarily
GMO? How do you fix a GMO become a catastrophe? Or a climate or a
currency or an empire gone berserk? The same way you fix Fukushima.
You don't. But what is the thing you will always hear, when you bring
up these kinds of problems?
Someone will figure it out.
Hard to figure out though, when
everything you are told everyday is basically a lie proffered by
someone with something to gain by lying.
Like the FBI, becoming more like the KGB every day. Recently of course, there was the extra-judicial
bullet in the back of the head to that young Chechen down in Florida,
Todashev, the lies that were told about him being armed, like the
ones told about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the “Boston Bomber”, being
armed. Oh, Todashev was just about to sign a statement that he and
that other Tsarnaev brother, Tamerlan, (the one the FBI took into custody and
then killed, very likely) murdered three people in 2011, because, you
know, people do that, sign statements that they committed mass
murder (If we say it, it is true! - FBI). Did he lunge at the FBI? Well, what would you do if it was
clear that you either become a snitch, or your life is over (ie life
over either way), or you agree to be the fall guy - 'sign this statement we put together for you. See,
we are the FBI, and America will believe whatever we tell America.
And you are a Chechen/Muslim/White Trash piece of shit.'
There was recently a case here in Minnesota, this one a white boy named Buford. He was supposedly
building molotov cocktails and pipe bombs in his trailer, supposedly part of a militia called Black
Snake, supposedly targeting the Montevideo Police Department. The FBI arrested
him and then released a statement about FOILING A TERROR PLOT, which
the MSM immediately, dutifully, plastered on every headline in the
country. There are at least 3-1, probably more like 2-1 and maybe
1.1-1 odds, that an FBI provocateur or two infiltrated the Black
Snake Militia (if there is one), and the “terror” plot (if there was one), was ALL their idea. Because
see, it is not about justice, it is not about the truth, it is not about protecting anybody but themselves and their paymasters - it is about
theater, to maintain and expand budgets, and you are being primed for
an ever increasing FBI/NSA/Homeland Security/Local Task Force presence
in your life, where every Buford and Ahmed and Jose is a potential TERRORIST!!!, that you must give up all your meager remaining rights and privacy to
defend against.
See Google, as a new tool of the FBI, security surveillance state.
See Google, as a new tool of the FBI, security surveillance state.
Buford, Ahmed and Jose don't scare me.
The FBI/NSA/Homeland Security/Local Police? Increasingly hired thugs, miscreants
and liars, increasingly assured there is nothing they
cannot do or say in support of the status quo, of TPTB. A new class
of specialized, high-paid muscle in America, separating the “useless eaters”
from the “job creators” and “decision makers.”
Berserk goes the Empire, and everybody
weeps.

Memorial Day
It's Sunday night, a holiday night, the night before Memorial Day, here in America. I'm home alone, as I often am, buzzed up, not as high as I would like to be, and otherwise wondering about my existence. Point-of-fact, I am somewhat exhausted, working overtime now at my uber garden center job, also gardening here sufficient to prep the growing of half the food I intend on eating this year and early next, and remodeling this house in preparation to show, to see what this new housing bubble is made of, LOL; and otherwise not eating much of late, for about ten days until recently, because in the bill paying and puffing and drinking I didn't otherwise manage my finances properly to account for food. :) Luckily, I had a cabinet full of beans and rice I bought in anticipation of hungry times, which one can only eat so much of, and every day leads otherwise to another reason to be alone much of the day, lol.
Here is a snippet of the last week of "official" work at uber garden center: Wednesday, at the end of a five day work spell, I built a hanging flower basket rack, sufficient to hold about 200 baskets, outside in the rain, which rack the managers took a picture of and sent to "the President of the Company," ie CEO (which rack you get to see when I am done working @ uber garden center :), after which I filled the stalls of the bagged garden consumables with the forklift in the rain for several hours, and then assembled half a dozen wheelbarrows until wee 3:30 am Thursday; worked Saturday eight hours making $80, while helping to sell a store record $133,XXX.XX in the garden center, while manually moving, lifting or pulling or pushing an estimated 10 tons of materials - $80 and not $60, because I said finally, earlier in the week, I am EXEMPT from your motherfucking taxes, motherfucker!; will work 3pm-12 Monday-Wed, yes, Memorial Day, apparently in remembrance of a time when I didn't have to work so damn hard barely to get by :)
Well, in fact, I am getting along just fine :) But I have been thinking a lot about that wage, and how that $10/hr, "which doesn't sound like much but is good by retail standards," does not go near as far it seems to me, as the $7.25/hr, working for different uber retail outlet in 1991, which was considered retail enlightened then. Full time at current retail outlet pays my mortgage, which is about the same as any modest 1-bedroom apartment in this city. That's it. No utilities, no food, no booze. Back in 1991, I could make rent (living in a house communally), and drive and drink and puff as much as I wanted. I could rent communally in this city for maybe $400. Phone, food, booze and bud? Driving is out of the question (which is fine, as I haven't owned a vehicle now in 7 years), and drinking is budgeted. Which isn't all bad except I can't plant cannabis in my garden because of self-same/similar uber fascists running corporate/gov/police-state America, which grinds, even more than the specific $475 those fascist fucksticks in city gov thieved from me recently, with their uber efficient bureaucratic/private enterprise quasi cartel, banana republic-esque money syphon. LOL. fucksticks.
Anyway, where was I? Right, working life. @ $10/hr, that means I would have to work approximately 70hrs a week, for the right to live in this house alone, to grow half the food I eat, to bicycle everywhere I go. And I work harder for that $10/hr than any job I have ever had, with the possible exception of the year or two I spent commercial roofing @ $5.75/hr (1992-94), which income only made sense 'cause I was young and dumb and I lived with my parents. Federal minimum wage meanwhile is $7.25 and the minimum wage for Minnesota is $6.15. If you think the 40hr/wk rule is enforced in any real way, then you make probably in excess of $15/hr, and probably considerably more, or you make less and are on the gov dole. Republicans calling themselves in this context, the party of family values, when so many parents are both working, and multiple jobs, is like saying my family is sacred but yours can burn in hell. And Dems, whores to the corporate/finance/military State, who never apparently met a tax or a fine or a fee that didn't sprout from the very bosom of the ineffable, inestimable, holy and all-tenses goddess of gov - and you think I can afford HEALTH CARE?!?!?!?!?
Which I guess the solution is to live communally, which if I do because I am not Mexican or Somali or Hmong but a middle-class white boy (raised) then that makes me a Communist!? Which as far as I can tell both Communists and Capitalists can go fuckaduck, LOL, the excellent managers of human affairs they both so apparently are. LOL...
Oh right, Memorial Day. In remembrance of those who have died in America's many wars, to build on and maintain our hegemony. With respect to all those who have died, all those who believe they serve. What do you serve? Consumerism? The Financial/Corporate/Military State? "State's rights" in an age when all States are pitted against each other, in the courting of corporate entities that excel at transforming the resources of the earth into poison and garbage, depressing wages, expanding costs, centralizing wealth? Perhaps you serve the money managers, who are the power behind all war, the secret power of every State. You serve yourself and your family to what end, in a world so ravaged by self-interest?
Perhaps this Memorial Day might be better served by imagining the earth, when it gave abundantly. When every human born was cherished as a necessary and sacred part. When every part, every aspect, was known to be part of a whole.
Blessings.
